Post by TTail »

With the price of oil climbing that mountain these past few moths, just curious what are some of the prices you guys are finding after pulling up to various stations around Canada (or the US for that matter).

On a positive note, it appears they are finally beginning to steadily decrease recently.

$4.78 U.S. a gallon (after all the taxes and fees it was just shy of $5) for Jet A in SAV.

Boston KBOS

$5.04USD/Ga Jet-A
$3.82USD/100LL although on the weekend its about a buck cheaper

Extremely expensive to land and park there, I flew my uncle down there to visit his friend who is a Fidelity Investment executive and was kind enough to pay for the trip.

Next time go to Bedford Mass. Better custom, good FBO and quicker to get to downtown then KBOS.

Yeah, but the view of Angkor must make it all worthwhile, especially if someone else is footing the bill!!

That's the highest I've seen as well, was there a week ago. Luckily we didn't need the fuel since we were repositioning close by. I asked them what their ramp/service fee was and they told me $240. I handed them the MultiService, came back to sign the slip and saw a total of $480. I remarked that the price had changed quite dramatically in a matter of 2 minutes, whats up with that? He continues to state...
$240 is our service fee
$50 ramp fee
$50 security fee
$$$ - GPU
$$$ - landing fee
$$$ - airport improvement fee and so on and so forth.

Not to mention that they almost always seem bothered when you are asking them to do tasks for you which last I checked is included in their job description and for $240 you'd expect them to be holding your coat tails for you.

If they're willing to pay that, Cat, I think you should up your instructor fees!

A few years ago I flew a Navajo into San Fransisco (SFO) and went to Signature to pick a guy up. I didn't pick up any fuel, I used a GPU, was there for 30 minutes, and the bill came to something like $450 US. I couldn't believe it. I can only imagine how much it is now.
