With all due respect, the lineup just isn't what it used to be...

No F16 demo? It's still listed on their website.

Nope. Just a few flybys ... though not today. The US has cut out the east + west F16 demo teams, the F15 demo teams, the A10 demo teams and only funds an F22. I guess it makes fiscal sense! I think this will be the final year of the CIAS.

That's too bad. I guess the people who bought condos there will be happy to see it go.

We used to drive down from Ottawa because the line up was so good & because we haven't had a big airshow since I guess the 90's. Thankfully Vintage Wings started hosting a great show and it is well run so hopefully it will stick around.

I doubt many that own/rent condos along the waterfront are too concerned about an air show that happens once a year during the day. I saw lots of people out on their roof top terraces, balconies, etc watching today.

Maybe some might like to see the airport in general be shut down but even then I think they are the minority.

Went to the show today. First time I have seen the show in 10-15 years. It is still a great spot to watch an air show. As mentioned above, the line up ain't what it use to be. That aside, and far more important, there was far to much time without an aircraft at stage centre.

I enjoyed the various displays, especially the Snowbirds, but the show seem disjointed.

Some of us who live in the condos actually like the air show!
5 years ago to the day we moved in " just to rent for a year"

Now I won't move out because nowhere else could rival the view I get of the airport !
It was a hell of a welcome on our first day in a new home in a new country to see the snowbirds fly past your window

Grabbed a quick lesson this morning before the airspace shut and followed the line of harvards into land!
How cool is that ?

True, but it's better than most airshows that just don't exist anymore.

Lol, you're comment about Air Cadet-Glider...

Too bad they couldn't get Manfred Radius to do his show in his Salto. Now that's not a bad show to watch, even if it is "only" a glider.

If you want to go to an airshow ... head south of the border. Not only are airshows free, but most have static displays.

Being an Air Cadet glider pilot myself, I'm curious to see what their aerial display was like. Was anybody there, any photos or videos?

I was this close "><" to going yesterday but had a family emergency to attend. The schedule looked great with all the demos, and amazing
aircraft.

Toronto puts on a better show than Waterloo (which was my last experience). One of the best parts was the 'near' speed of sound low pass!
Very cool to see the shock waves building around the jet, and the incredible drone that was heard after it passed me.

Wow, that's a big picture!!

A Quick Note on the F-16s
A lot of people have been asking, "what happened to the F-16s?" Unfortunately, they were unable to perform due to mechanical issues ...

Sounds more like budget cuts; http://www.acc.af.mil/aerialevents/f16west/index.asp

I was watching the show planes take off from the island today (monday) and they all took off to the east into the wind except for the glider tug. It took off to the south. Not sure what the wind was, but the lake had whitecaps. Whats up with that?

Taken Monday CYTZ 13:46 as mentioned all aircraft (except Glider under tow)
departed to the east (left in photo).

Hmmm, http://flightaware.com/live/flight/BFF100 I see one of the Oshawa based Falcon 10's flew into
the Island airport this evening, cool.
