good news if the third quarter is showing an after tax income of $10m, however on the last 9months period AT still has a loss of $43M.

still, a positive balance sheet for this quarter is always welcome.The implementation of the measures contained in the Corporation’s plan to return to profitability is proceeding. For the fourth quarter, Transat expects to record an increase in margin over last year.

Transat summer and winter operations are vastly different. While Transat is finding the right balance for the trans-Atlantic market, it still seems unable to compete with Sunwing who is adding 30% capacity this winter to southern destinations. Hopefully Transat can figure that part of the puzzle out.

Ng78, that's the problem .. how can AT compete when Sunwing has lower overhead in regards to training cost? No pension, no benefits to foreign pilots .. Frankly the stupidity of our government is putting many Canadian carriers that employ Canadian pilots in jeopardy. Sunwing and Canjet gain a huge economic imbalance in their favour. I guess you can add Westjet to list ... there 757 operation is operated by foreign pilots, mind you nowhere near the same level as SW and CJ.
