King Air High-Floatation Gear
I'm kicking myself here.
Looking for a document that lets ya install a 22x6.75-10 tyre on a B200 main wheel. Hi-floatation gear or something like that. I swear I saw a Goodrich or Parker SI/SB that allowed me to do it.
Lemme know
Patrick

Re: King Air High-Floatation Gear
Are you thinking Wilderness Tires? Hi Float gear is a total different gear leg, actuator, some different strutural members, doors, etc.
The wilderness tires for the 200 is STC SA00184LA
If you look on faa.gov you can find the rest of the info.

Found it: In the IPC of course. Gotta look harder sometimes!
The thing is trying to convince the bosses to put a 6.75-10 when 6.5x10 is stamped right on the rim. From what I gather a Hi-Float gear package still uses the same wheels...of which old ones are stamped with the size (either 18x6.5-10 or 22x6.5-10)...so sometimes ya gotta prove yourself I suppose.

Re: King Air High-Floatation Gear
If i remember right you just have to change the gear doors and use the slightly bigger rubber. Make sure to check the brakes out too, cant remember for sure if they have to change to accommodate the bigger rubber.

Re: King Air High-Floatation Gear
High float gear has larger wheels and different brakes, and as previously said ..a different strut assy, gear doors ( half length of standard doors ) drag brace etc.
