Would someone familiar please PM me about life on NCs' 146. Sched, flights, work conditions... whatever you would care to share.
Thanks, it will be much appreciated!! Wondering about a change of pace... and yes, I have done lots of oil patch work in the past.

Re: North Cariboo gets BAE146?
I believe the Avro RJ wasn't certified in Canada and the 146 was a fill
Re: North Cariboo gets BAE146?
The Avro RJ would be a sweet bird for the patch. We loved the 146 at Air BC and if you talk to any Jazz pilot that flew 'em, to a person they loved them... a wee bit slow, but really nice and easy to fly. A few ex- Air BC types are flying it for NC now. A shame we couldn't have had the newer Avro RJ here at Jazz instead of the pretty useless RJ 100/200 which is a Bizjet in disguise. Way better airliner all around is the 146.
Nice to see them still being useful!

@lonjon,
You are correct. the RJ85 series was never certified in Canada.
Following a quick conversion course, I ferried a total of 3 ex Mesaba RJ85s out of the Desert to Norwich UK for CityJet.
For anyone who has flown the stock 146...the RJ series is an absolute joy to fly. A little higher and a little faster (FL350 & .73), efis, autothrottle, autoland etc. On leg 2 from Detroit to Goose Bay, we were at 350 grounding at 590 knots and sipping less than 3500 lbs/hr total. (LF507 engines).
Interesting to note as well, that a paperwork addition to the flight supplement now allows the standard 146 to fly @ .72 and carry additional cargo in the fwd and aft holds....i think the limit is now 4500 lbs fore and aft.

@Spagiola.
Yes...was Hatfield.
Have been told by another source, that Hatfield, Brough, Woodford and Chadderton were all involved with the HS146 design.
Project was shelved after his involvement until later resurrected as the BAe146.

Here is a link to a bit of the history of the aircraft as discussed in the UK House Of Commons:

Hope this is not too much of a thread drift...
