Wow! That one puckered up my butt-hole! I wonder if it was the KC-135 that dropped or the AWACS that climbed...

Actually it looks like either the tanker may have dropped. Watch the horizon in the top left corner right after the emergency disconnect engages.

Re: Refuelling incident
At first I thought it was the AWACS that just about caused the collision with all the bouncing around he was doing trying to make the connection but after further watching the vid on Linecrew's observation, I kind of have to agree with him.
Quoted, by whom(crew member or random you tube stalker) I do not know, from one of the comments of the video
"The AWACS did nothing wrong, and the KC-135 pilot almost got everyone killed. The KC-135 begins climbing slightly after the disconnect, and AWACS gradually tries to match the angle of ascent. A few moments later, the KC-135 pilot totally overcompensates for their original vector change, and rapidly dives ten degrees downward, cutting off the AWACS' line of flight. Everyone's lucky the KC-135 pilot was on the ball."

Ten degrees? I call bullshit. A ten degree pitch change at the speed these planes were at would result in an extreme descent. All you need is one or two degrees pitch change and you're at 1500 fpm."A few moments later, the KC-135 pilot totally overcompensates for their original vector change, and rapidly dives ten degrees downward"

Between this and the Beaver chopping the back off a pickup, I'm wondering who had messier drawers, the AWACS crew, the boom operator, or the truck driver.
