Bombardier and NetJets®, today introduced NetJets' first Global 6000 jet at a special unveiling event at Orlando Executive Airport. The aircraft will be featured as part of the static display for NBAA 2012 before being officially handed over to NetJets in the fourth quarter of 2012.

Interesting what the NetJets marketing person told you, but the original intent of the QS was Quarter Shares...It's probably evolved into Quality Service though...

Binomial Distribution

NetJets founder, Richard Santulli - who has a mathematical background, used the equation 'Binomial Distribution' to determine the odds of more than one fractional owner requiring an aircraft at the same time as another fractional owner.

The mathematical answer is '4', thus it was named Quarter Shares - QS.

Of course now, NetJets (Richard is long gone) is now selling 1/32 fractional shares.
