Re: Air Canada Interviews
Can you confirm the g/s is on Nov 12th?
Why would it take 5 days to call approx 20 guys?

Re: Air Canada Interviews
I'm sure most will get called within 2-3 days this week. 5 is just a number for the people who are waiting in anticipation
Who knows. Might even take more than 1 week. Either way... They will give you enough notice prior to the start date.

Did anybody else get a call besides bravowhiskey?

How about a December ground school?homer85 wrote:No October Ground School is planned. November is a high possibility though.
Re: Air Canada Interviews
I would say there's a 99% chance of no groundschool in Dec. Even last year in full on hiring mode they took December off.

Re: Air Canada Interviews
The new equipment bid that came out on Friday shows a need for 59 more new hires (only 4 retirements so this is growth). LCC based in YYZ. The another bid will be out in December and that one should show the pilots who chose to leave before the Dec 31st, 2013 pension deadline.
Interesting times to be a young pilot.

No. It's a behavioural type interview.

Re: Air Canada Interviews
Just wondering if anyone can confirm that the PIT course for November is actually on the 12th. Has anyone but Bravowiskey gotten the call?

Re: Air Canada Interviews
Yes it is, I was called too. From what I gathered the course was full or near to. Good luck all, sounds like there will be more in the new year. Candidates were taken from the pool based purely on interview date.
Re: Air Canada Interviews
Might there be a January gs? In your best guestimate, what equipment and base will be available for new hires in early 2013?

Re: Air Canada Interviews
New hires will be YZ. Guessing E190 FO and LCC 319 FO. It's certainly conceivable there could be new hires going to 767 FO in the LCC. Know more in the next 2 weeks.

If selected for mainline, could there be an involuntary transfer to the LCC further down the road?groundtoflightdeck wrote:New hires will be YZ. Guessing E190 FO and LCC 319 FO. It's certainly conceivable there could be new hires going to 767 FO in the LCC. Know more in the next 2 weeks.
And can someone confirm that there is no Reserve for the LCC.

Re: Air Canada Interviews
You can't be specifically forced to the LCC. If you can no longer hold your position due to a reduction then you can bid to wherever your seniority will hold. I would expect normally that you could be a mainline RP or the LCC. LCC is the place to be as a new hire I think. Better schedule and same pay...
Re: Air Canada Interviews
Slightly lower hourly pay at LCC during first 4 flat pay years 1-4.
But with higher DBMs expected you may see little difference on the bottom line.

Re: Air Canada Interviews
Will Mainline guys will be able to bump LCC guys as they come down. ie out of Captain seats. Does the LCC seniority list start at the bottom of the Mainline list or is it going to be separate?
I bet we'll see a lot of guys returning from over seas with the chance of growth and a quick upgrade.

Re: Air Canada Interviews
There is one list. Anyone senior to you can bump you in the event of a reduction situation - it doesn't matter what position they are coming from. Although on the surface it is a separate company from the perspective of the pilots it is just an equipment bid. Will Mainline guys will be able to bump LCC guys as they come down. ie out of Captain seats. Re: Air Canada Interviews
Will mainline guys be free to bid in and out of the LCC as they wish?
Re: Air Canada Interviews
Offhand it's a 24month freeze if you bid into the LCC, then there are also all the associated category bidding issues that started with this contract.
