LCC socialized bidding
Can anyone shed some light on the socialized bidding scheduled planned for the LCC?
Is this going to mirror the schedule bidding process that westjet has in place?
Also wondering how many working days a month there are, and if there is any reserve coverage planned.
Thanks
FF

Re: LCC socialized bidding
It's not being referred to as socialized bidding. The term being used is "Fair Share." what that means, no idea... One version I have heard is that it weights days off requests more than specific pairing / quality of life requests. So you still would have sr and jr pilots at each extreme, just a bigger grey area in the middle. But that could just be a WAG.
Max 16 days worked / month. However the term "days worked" is subject to clarification. Ie. does an over seas layover 24 hrs+ count as a day worked?
No Scheduled reserve coverage. LCC pilots are expected to cover open flying. Howeve there is a provision to list yourself on reserve and if you don't fly you get extra pay.
Lots of fill in the blanks yet to be seen. There is apparently more info to come in the new year....after people have bid or been forced into these positions.
