You want photoshopped, check out Cargo North's website...didn't even bother to "paint" the far wing in a couple shots, still orange from the previous picture of the Alfred Wegener Institute's aircraft...

Well it's painted like that now. I guess maybe it went to Muskoka for the paint job?

Source said it was parked on the Kelner ramp for a week. Kind of hard to mistake a DC-3

The DC3 that was in Thunder Bay a few weeks ago was Basler's. It was up there for training. Cargo North's machine is supposed to arrive this week and sounds like it will be at the pilatus centre.Gravol wrote:Source said it was parked on the Kelner ramp for a week. Kind of hard to mistake a DC-3

I sure as hell hope they got the permission not only to use the photos, but to edit them so extensively. A google search found 4 of the original photos very quickly.
I think I'll send an email to Aero Canada just to see if they allowed Cargo North to use the photos. Even if they did, it's unlikely the original photographer granted Aero Canada the right to give away or sell his/her photos.
Us photographers have to look out for each other!

Didn't notice this at the time, but you can also still see the science racks installed inside the aircraft. Note the glass dome and probes for air sampling on top of the aircraft. I've flown that particular aircraft on several occasions, never painted like that!

You make it sound like companies develop their own web pages -- I would assume that professional web deign companies are responsible to look after any copy rights for material they use.I sure as hell hope they got the permission not only to use the photos, but to edit them so extensively. I've licensed quite a few photos to aviation companies to be used on their websites. What I've found is I'm usually speaking directly with the company, and then I assume they would forward the photo on to their web designer.Liquid Charlie wrote:You make it sound like companies develop their own web pages -- I would assume that professional web deign companies are responsible to look after any copy rights for material they use.I sure as hell hope they got the permission not only to use the photos, but to edit them so extensively. Arrived in YQT tonight... sharp looking machine!
Re: Cargo North Basler Turbo 67 for NW Ontario Service
Well jspifire, good catch! The original photographer did happily allow Basler to use a number of those photos for their promotion of the BT-67. The original photographer did not grant further permission to other organizations to use them - but, I suppose it happens...
The original photographer, who is not a professional photographer, just the guy doing all of the testing, is quite proud of those photos.... And these as well.....

And let me see.... A few others I (the original photographer of all of these) took of this marvelous aircraft....

And, of course, you've already seen this one...

I have many more, actually 3433 photos of Polar 5 over the years, according to "Properties" for that folder in my computer! So, what I might lack in photo credits, I more than make up for in quantity!

Re: Cargo North Basler Turbo 67 for NW Ontario Service
Thats good, sounds like the original photographer knows about Cargo North using the photos, so that's all I was really concerned about.PilotDAR wrote:Well jspifire, good catch!
They are certainly some great shots!
