Well I think they covered just about everything, but this is what you get in an industry which is still considered male dominant and as was mentioned earlier we know what guys have on their minds.

P.S. Tower Dudette check your PM, nothing crude, I swear.

Hey on the flipside i think the same thing of female pilots. You hear the voice and think man she's hot. A lot are and even if there no they are generally really nice. But you have to be careful.

When i was FSS in Terrace BC we did Sandspit RCO remotely. Now there was contract weather observers at sandspit and whenever they did a special they had to phone us and let us know. There was one observer who had this really sexy australian accent. I was in love after the first call, so subsequently whenever she called with the special i made it a point of chatting her up. We actually got on pretty well, i asked my manager for NavCan to cough up the cash for a Fam flight to Sandspit for "training purposes" . He laughed at me and told me to bugger off cause he knew i wanted to go meet her. About a week later my manager came up to me laughing telling me he was talking to the APM in Sandspit and it turns out this girl is of the same dimensions and proportions as me. For those who know me, know i am built like an Offensive Lineman 6'3" 305. Not exactly what i had in mind for my blonde 6'0" australian surfer girl who resmebled Elle Mcpherson. Need less to say i learned my lesson meet them....THEN have the fantasies that way it saves you a lot of bad bad bad dreams.......

P.S. Doc great story, Tower Dudette even better comeback.

Tower Dudette,

Thanks for your romantic PM ;) I know you can't leave the impression out here that we've got something between us, so I forgive you for your public roasting.

But in my public defense, because we're 'field workers', our company allows us to bill them for 15 minutes of long distance a week for 'morale calls'. This call on the SatFone was purely a morale call. And because I didn't bill them for one other minute for the 6 weeks I was gone, I think they'll survive paying the $3 for the albeit unusual call. The travel policy doesn't indicate what method these morale calls must be made. I sometimes use the 'grey areas' to my benefit. But what I left out of the story for the reader's benefit was that we did need to work out some changes to our mission with them via SatFone, rather than clog the air with it in real time. I just added my unusual request at the end of the call.

By the way, if I did give you the cute, romantic ending, would you have still given me a disapproving answer? Or did you roast me because I didn't get the return phonecall, thus you decided to 'display class' and kick me while I was down? I'm hurt  But I'll get over it. And since you asked, gin & tonic is my summertime drink. I look forward to meeting you ;)

I THINK I MAY HAVE DONE IT, BOYS!!! I'll keep you posted.

Shankdizzle :D

ps, Tower Dudette: I've skyrocketed to an 8.9 on hotornot.com ;)

I laughed too when I saw your pic on hotornot.com .... not sure how you got the 8.8, maybe a sympathy thing.

Ayyyy yycflyguy, te recuerdas de la voz de la controladora en "Panama Control" . . . . y como todos nosotros nos pusimos de babosos?

No se si ella era "hot", pero escuchar su voz si me hizo caliente!!!
I got to meet the lady from 125.5 in Panama, unfortunately her sexy voice did not match the rest of her.... does she bring back some sweet memories or what????

yycflyguy. What are you doing rating GUYS on hotornot? But you ask how I got the 8.8... I figure its the three day's growth of facial hair I had going at the time. I feel that added a real intangible to my already cut & rugged appearance ;) Good inquiry, though.

Guys you can use this to your advantage. Male controllers are just as bad as male pilots, case in point. I was on my way from YYZ to YVR starting out on a red eye. There was one plane in front of us going to YVR also. They asked for direct booth, which for those who don't know is about 1750 miles out of YYZ on the arrival into YVR. I wasn't going to ask for dircet booth knowing I would be turned down as well. We had a french flight attendant up front with us for a bit with a very sexy voice, so just for kicks I got her to ask for direct booth in the sexiest voice she could come up with, and thanks to most males being perverts we got it.

Well thanks boys for replying to my initial post.

I do enjoy the replies. I have been a reader of these forums...I do enjoy the various topics & characters.

ps: I'm not from YQT. NOR am I trying to start a guessing game.

Hey Shankdumb

Shankdumb? Baby don't talk that way! No need to get cranky and start name-calling. Especially publically when you're sending me such romantic PM's! I was thinking that you were angling at becoming a Shankdudette! ;) But thanks for all your compliments on my high score on the anonomous and free hotornot.com! I've continued to skyrocket to an unprecidented 9.0, and I owe that to sweethearts like yourself ;) Happy controlling!

By the way... YYC?

ps. Keep the PM's coming, Tower Dudette! Don't let my 9.0 intimidate ya!

Well, hey... ya know, often I've wondered what the MEN on the other end look like! But then I see them.. LOL!!!

However, I do, on occasion, dream that Fabio is flying when I hear Just Curious hammering the airwaves.. :D :D :D

One of the most hilarious (and overtly flirtacious) exchanges I've ever heard on the radio happened about 5-years ago in Cenamer Control's airspace (Cenamer Control is the Center controling the airspace of Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Belize, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and a good chunk of the Western Caribbean). It was the early morning hours (something like 3 or 4 am), when one of the local airliners checked in on the frequency.

When the male-pilot recognized the female-controllers voice, he went into a 1 to 2 minute long string of flirtacious comments that almost made me blush (I don't think the guy caught his breath until he released the push-to-talk switch either). Never heard anything like this before on the radio!!!

The controller responded, "thank you, thank you!!! I almost fell off my chair!"

It certainly broke the monotomy of red-eye flying.

Don't make me show everyone here YOUR PM's. I doubt that you even crack the 2.6 on the hot or not.com scale. I hear the scale is proportional to the size of your.....

Tower Dudette (or should I say 'Shankdudette' now), you leave me no choice but to respond to you once again. I admit that I'm disappointed that you've resorted not only to name-calling, but also to speculating on the size of my shnitzel. That doesn't seem right, seeing as I've never said anything mean about you. Besides, you've haven't seen my shnitzel... (yet ;) )! Since you asked, my picture on hotornot remains in great standing. You should check me out. I know you're on there all the time, but you'll know its me when you see a rugged and devilishly handsome young cowpoke saddling up a shiny ol' Lear to canter off into the unforgiving skies. I'll be wearing a smile that brings all the swagger and bravado back into modern day gunslingin'... you can't miss me. Check you're zany PM's, honey, and I'll save you the searchin'. And to answer your other PM'd inquiry: Yes, I do have a keg installed in my kitchen, and no, I don't ignore female controllers that are big-boned. I'm a 21st century man ;). Dinner is on you, by the way... you make more than me. I'll buy the wine, though.

Awe...did someones 'wittle feewings' get hurt? That was too easy. You buckled way too soon. Perhaps there are other things you do way too soon as well?

I'd say your right, especially after she posted her pic, which I might add is :supz:

So, uh, how u doin?

Forget shank, come on over to the short bus side, I can beat the 9 on hotornot, plus, I enjoy long walks on the beach, cuddling, and I like animals. What more could you ask for?

Also, I can afford to take you out for dinner. (Hope you like Wendy's)

What do you say?

Bruised ego? I don't have one of those! How could I with a 9 on hotornot? And no... my witto feewings didn't get huwt. I don't let unsubstantiated aspersions from air traffic controllers hurt me. Do you find it offensive when I ellude to the thought that you might be big boned? Of course not! Because judging from your picture, the only big bone in your body would be there as the innevitable result of you and I drinking too much wine together ;) And I must say that if that's actually you in that picture, you are very attractive. I've seen that very picture on hotornot.com with a big 7.9 beside it. Not a shabby score... congratulations!!! See? I knew you were there all along. (For the record, I rated you a 10... because that's what you rated me, and I do feel that your outward appearance is somewhat desireable... deserving of much higher that 7.9). But good news! I came into a little financial bonus this morning! Perhaps you won't need to pick up the cheque after all! So we're on as scheduled as per your recent PM? In your next PM, could you send me the 'schedule' you've obviously devised for luring me into a date?

I'M ALMOST THERE, BOYS!!! I'll keep you posted.

Damn Shankdown, that website had me nearly falling off my chair. If you want a controller who makes the REAL money set your site's on the IFR one's. They make way more then the tower dudette's, you won't even have to buy the wine. :D :D

PS There's one in YYZ that sounds german and there's another with a half auzzie half british accent, give them a shot!

I was passing through Edmonton about 2 years ago. We had a fuel stop in YXD then decided to go company note the rest of the way to Hinton, AB. YXD tower passed us over to Villeneuve Tower as we were transiting their zone. I called up, "Villeneuve tower Navajo GABC blahblahblah". The HOTTEST voice i've ever heard replied,"roger Navajo ABC you are cleared through my zone at 4500ft." Well because she sounded soooooo hot i had to ask if I were to stop by on the return flight for a "tour of the tower", because "it was pretty much along the way". She replied, " i'll be on daysoff, nice try though......SPORT!".

All i have to say is OUCH
