Airport friendly boots
Sick and tired of taking my shoes / boots off twice a day at airport's security.
Any suggestions on airport friendly footwear and where I can get them in YUL or YYZ area?
I know that the brand Bates make such a boot but I heard the only place they have a decent looking model was in YYT.

Re: Airport friendly boots
I find cowboy boots the best. They slip on and off fast, are comfortable and look great for business, casual as well as in uniform.
Re: Airport friendly boots
Pretty much any shoe or boot that doesn't have metal in it. Fancy loafers usually have metal tacks holding the sole on, same with cowboy boots. Walmart sells these great running shoes that don't even need laces, very easy to take on and off and they make you look faster.

I have to take mine off each time I have to go through security. At least now there is a bypass at the US security line in YYZ but lots of places still require us to get scanned.SeptRepair wrote:People are still taking off their shoes? I have a pair of Daniers which have never set anything off. They're boots with a zipper up the insides.
If you're going to the U.S I think there is a separate requirement to remove your shoes and have them scanned separatly.

Blundstones, Docs, Clarks, never had an issue with any of them.

Are you a crew remember (Uniform and badge) or not?
If so you don't have to take your shoes off.
Have a look at zappos.com They have a number of choices that are airport safe boots.

I love my Blundstones! Quick on and off, weather proof and look good!

Doc Martens. You can't go wrong with that. Sensible looking and comfortable and no scary metal bits.

I agree with Meatservo. Docs are great. Except I would recommend Solovairs. Same boot as the Doc, except they are still made in England as opposed to Thailand in the case of the Docs. Far better quality for about the same money. They will last twice as long in my experience...
