I still think Milton let WJ of the hook way too easily!! Maybe re-open the case...you know...to see how "unfair" that was and put AC at a disadvantage!!

Anywho, the bottom line is AC is breach of a moral and actual contract they made with their employees. If they didn't have a history of using a scorched earth policy to deal with competitors I would maybe see this differently but little ol' cynical me thinks they will just use the extra cash to do what they've always done, crush competitors.
Re: Westjet lobbies government against AC pension moritorium
I think this could happen if all the AC/Jazz employees got together for a class action civil lawsuit claiming that their carriers had been adversely affected which was/is almost certainly the case.aroundthewing wrote:http://www.cbc.ca/news/business/story/2 ... ettle.html

Several of us have good friends/family working for AC. Deriving pleasure from their pain/demise is despicable.

Yup. It sure is.

Re: Westjet lobbies government against AC pension moritorium
This is about AC wanting to buy a shwack of 320NEO's or C Series with pension money.
BTW I always wondered why AC only ordered half the replacement aircraft for the 767's. It all makes sense now though. Guess that was the plan all along!

Currently 28 B767-300's with 37 orders for the B787 which is the replacement aircraft.
How does a corporation take pension money from OSFI to purchase airplanes?
Re: Westjet lobbies government against AC pension moritorium
By deferring the required contributions, the money not put in will be free for use on things like loan payments and of course lets not forget, CEO bonuses for a job well done.yycflyguy wrote:

Got it. Not taking it directly out from OFSI but continued delinquency on payments moving forward. Pure evil.mbav8r wrote:By deferring the required contributions, the money not put in will be free for use on things like loan payments and of course lets not forget, CEO bonuses for a job well done.yycflyguy wrote:

The bonuses extend further than just the CEO!!
