There's a new equipment out today and it shows the need for 112 new hires. That's good news for everyone at AC or those hoping to get here.

I wonder what happened to the fear-mongers predicting 1,000 layoffs?

Well that's some good news, also interested in finding out if that's just mainline or includes LCC.

How and when does one know which operation they will be operating for? Does everyone get hired together and then you choose mainline or LCC in groundschool? If so, that's a little like playing Russian roulette.

You will be an Air Canada pilot whether LCC or Mainline. Where you could potentially go will depend on the vacancies and training availability and you would find out your first week on course. There will be equipment bids every 2 months under the new contract and you could potentially bid and be awarded a different position before you even start your first course.

Don't hold your breath for a call until early January, usually get about 30 days notice.

Have a good Christmas,

Good Luck

Hi there,
For those of you in the pool. Have you all done your medical and your références call or if you were sent a letter stating you are in a pool?

I have a few friends in the pool that were interviewed in July and they have their medicals completed. I was in the November Pit course and our course consisted of people interviewed from early June to early July. I would imagine the February course will be from guys interviewed from early July to early August.

Just to solidify what bravowhiskey said, in the email update they sent out a few weeks ago about the feb gs, she did say that they were calling late july and early august folks in the pool. I interviewed in mid sept and was told that they will not be doing pre employment medicals until your name comes up for a course and will be calling in order of when you interviewed.

Hopefully with the amount of spots needed to be filled after the last bid that they will solidify a few more courses after feb.

Most likely in March.
We need to hire over 100 pilots in the short term.
