See CAR 421.13:
http://www.tc.gc.ca/eng/civilaviation/r ... htm#421_13
You need a class 3 (or 1) medical, photo ID, letter of recommend from an instructor, and a total of 10 hours of flight time (any combination of dual and solo).

But beware -- the license must be applied for within 24 months of writing the exam, so if you think you may take a long time don't do the exam too early!

Can anybody provide a CARs reference for this??? I found this bit of info in a policy letter (http://www.tc.gc.ca/media/documents/ca- ... idance.pdf, pg. 15), but I don't see it in the CARs (unlike the similar 12-month validity period for the flight test, stated plainly and clearly in Personnel and Licensing...)jump154 wrote:But beware -- the license must be applied for within 24 months of writing the exam, so if you think you may take a long time don't do the exam too early!
