Waterloo Wellington FC Vs Harv's Air 4 Instructor Rating

Post by aviatorakshay09 »

Friends I'm an International student from india and would like to get a true advice in choosing between Harv's Air and Waterloo Wellington FC for instructor rating.
Please guide me based on 1) Quality of training
2) Chances of getting employed after the training
3) Weather Factor
4)Hiring of foreign nationals
5)No of students based on Cadet programs and size of schools
Your help will be highly appreciated.

You ought to call up both flight schools with your questions. I can't comment on Harvs but WWFC have some great instructors, friendly staff and a good fleet. Can't go wrong with them in my opinion.

I called both of them and both really sound to be a good option. I'm really confused.

If both sound "good options" why are you confused?

If everything else is equal, I'd bet that Harv's in Manitoba will have better weather on average. Better weather means less time spent.

^ NO, we can't.

That's between you and the school. From their end, it will depend on expected student load; from yours, on how well you do during your rating - think of it as a 2 month job interview.

Given that you are Indian, I do recall hearing several (stereotypical?) indian accents around Steinbach a year or two back. They might, therefore, be interested in you to help with attracting more foreign students. Again, though, that is between you and the school.

Good luck, whichever way you choose!

Confusion shouldnt really come into it. Choose a school, pick one. I would go for the school who have the "most" overseas students and having trained at Harv's years ago I noticed that they had a large amount of "Indian" students. As mentioned above you will not be guaranteed a job at either unless you prove yourself during the rating. You will also have to possible consider the Visa issues, are you in the process of being able to work in Canada, maybe you already have that entitlement?

If you send me $200 I'll explain what the Colonel is trying to tell you and even give you a free demonstration.

Hint, even though it says free it costs $200.

Your chances of being employed are going to vary greatly based on your performance and enthusiasm. Just remember, treat your entire flight instructor rating as one long interview process.

I don't understand how google is one of the biggest corporations out there, but very few people seem to be able to use its flagship product. Seriously, there's a lot more to search for on the internet than p0rn people. Frig, before I hire people these days I google them, you'd be suprised what one can find out.

Really people. One of the things that you're supposed to learn in school is how to research stuff. Back when I was a kid, that meant hanging out at the library, looking up books, magazine articles, newspaper articles - anyone remember how to use one of thos microfiche machines? These days its all at your fingertips. Everywhere. You can have a hand held device that can store information it used to take a building to hold. Automated searches, no more having to play nice with some cranky librarian. Huge advances these days to be able to make informed decisions.

Yet half you kids out there spend more time shopping for the latest Justin Bieber ringtone than you do flight schools. Such a waste.

Who said I was strictly talking about kids? "Kids" by today's standards I think includes anyone under the age of 30. BTW, that's like the creepiest desktop you got there.
