Stall Recovery for LearJet 60XR???
Can somebody tell me whats up with the stall recovery in the Learjet 60XR as seen in this NatGeo megafactories show? 35:55 mins into it. Too much aileron you think? Here's the link

How effective are the ailerons on that jet whilst stalled?

Hummm.....maybe there is some scene editing to make it more dramatic...At 36:40 the AI shows a 13deg nose up while the previous scenes shows the aircraft nose down .....

I've done full aerodynamic stalls in different configurations in a Learjet 35A and they are violent! Rounded corners on one stall strip and sharp edges on the other can result in a good wing drop. They have a shaker and a pusher for very good reasons.

So FICU, would you say this could be some "scene editing" as stated previously or is the use of ailerons in the recovery standard. In my flight training I've always been taught to keep ailerons neutral for a stall recovery however the ol' 172 is probably quite different than a Learjet.

It is TV so there could have been editing with footage out of sequence.
Looks like they had the left wing drop and the controls would be very mushy until they got more airflow over the wings in the recovery. Your everyday pilot would never see the full stall unless things went really bad. Sim training is normally to the first sign of stall before recovery which is the shaker and the recovery from stick shaker is pretty easy. Even with that much wing drop they may have had to make an adjustment and re-test prior to final certification. It should stall with very little wing drop... the 35 did anyway.
