Anyone ever get PFOd after being placed in the pool? Or are you almost guaranteed to get hired if you are placed in the pool??

If they didn't offer you employment within 6 months (or is it 1 yr?) from your pool date you will have to do the whole process again.

Ok thanks for that answer.
Has this happened to someone you know? Did they just get no news or actually get an official letter saying no go/please re-apply!?

Also - Anyone get news for march course?

this did not happen to someone i know. but if my memory serves me well, in the past they have decided not to continue on with courses and everyone in the pool had to redo the process again.

How long does it usually take AC to respond after an interview? It's been close to 6 weeks and I haven't heard anything yet. Is this normal?

I didn't get any news till 3 months after my interview.
I think they are very busy/overwhelmed with hiring so try to be patient! I know It's not easy to stand by waiting for so long.
Although one of my friends recently got PFOd after about 6 weeks...
Good luck

You can get Pfo'd anytime. Don't forget that, even if you are in the pool, you still need to pass the medical (which I heard is not a piece of cake) and have your references checked.

So the pool is a step forward but far from being an employement offer,

Good luck to all the swimmers!

p.s: by the way does anyone know if everybody goes trough the pool or if some people have direct offers?

These days looks like new hires first go through being placed in the pool before having an official job offer.
February course was filled by candidates that were in the pool.
Hope this helps!

We have a new bid out tonight and it shows another 221 vacancies. The hiring should continue for some time.

Not a huge surprise but Air Canada has confirmed today that it will take delivery of 5 777-300ER's in 2013 (including the 2 previously announced). This should leave about 300 pilot vacancies to be filled by the summer of 2014 (+ or - a few depending on retirements), not too shabby...
