Re: Current info on REGIONAL 1?
I see Regional 1 is hiring again.
Is there anyone with updated information on them? Salary? Schedule? Type of work?
The posting also mentions that the position is for domestic crew. Is it realistic to think that you would stay as a domestic crew member or 6 months down the road could you find yourself overseas?
Thanks.

Things have changed at R1 since GGN started running the show. GGN has made cuts to both their health care benefits and pensions. Apparently some pilots have quit already. Expect to see a mass exit in the new year as others find alternatives.
NC or Sunwest would probably be a better choice now.

Sure, but for how long before they realize they have zero incentive to pay more than their competitors?PoFo wrote:Things have changed at R1 since GGN started running the show. Still weeerkin on it
Re: Current info on REGIONAL 1?
I heard ever since GGN took over R1, Dash 8 drivers will be getting paid close to GGN 1900 wages? Any truth to this? That would mean a Dash 8 F/O would start at 29k if I am not wrong.

15 years ago, in Saskatoon when I got out of Uni, starting wages in basically any corporate job were 35k-40k. Here in YYC, past two companies I recently worked at start new grads at 60k+bonus+rrsp+matched savings plan+great benefits.
I sure hope that 29k is very temporary and a right seat pays 2.5x that.

Bill left almost two years ago. He's up in YMM now.ClevelandSteamer wrote:Is Bill not running the show at R1 anymore?
Re: Current info on REGIONAL 1?
In hindsight a Dash FO at Caribou makes 39k to start, and CMA 38k. But I believe both companies have a total time pay scale, so if you come in with good quality time, it's not uncommon to start in the mid 40's.
Re: Current info on REGIONAL 1?
AGL has made no adjustment to R1 wages. There was a change to benefits due to the merger which resulted in a net gain for 85% of R1 employees, each employee is unique based on their prior and new opt-in/opt-out choices.

Not true, at Cariboo you start at first level of pay not matter what your time is.loopa wrote:In hindsight a Dash FO at Caribou makes 39k to start, and CMA 38k. Thanks for clarifying that white guy.
Ggn I'm hearing prominent stories behind pay cuts at R1 but with you saying otherwise then thats good.
What does a dash capt/fo start out at R1 then?

What does first year left seat pay, and how many years could someone expect (average) to spend in the right seat before upgrading?
