Top Gun Imax!
So who here is planning on seeing the best movie of all time in 3D Imax?
In YYC I think it starts on the 8th. Who's in?

Yes, but only the flight time, not the whole 1.8 - just in case TC checks your logbook against Maverick's.

None of the above can hold a candle to "Twelve O' Clock High"

On the iron eagle video, the dude's wearing telex headsets!! That's one quiet piston aircraft.

Negative Beef. I was hoping someone who went would post a review. It's still on. Maybe the Mrs. will go with me tomorrow.

Re: Top Gun Imax!
Seriously man you owe it to yourself to go see it in Imax. I talked my girlfriend into seeing it yesterday at Country hills, even though I know she only went for the beach volleyball scene.
What a classic movie. Even though I know every line It still struck me how many classics there are. The 3d is ok, they didn't do anything amazing but it was cool. It's also interesting to see how non HD it is. Still worth every penny, that movie was made for the big screen.

Re: Top Gun Imax!
I saw Top Gun when it came out and I honestly don't understand how it's gained such a cult following among pilots. The movie was cheesy and lame and even a bit gay. If you blow it up to IMAX proportions I would guess it just gets lamer and cheesier and if possible, even gayer.
So what exactly is the attraction to this movie? There are plenty of other "airplane" movies out there that are much more worthy of cult status.

CID you have to remember this was made in 1986, for its time it was good. I consider star wars one of the cheesier movies so to each their own I guess

sanjet...oh I remember. I was there. I saw it back when it was released. And I remember a certain bunch of pilots almost wetting themselves over it. Like you said. To each his own.
