Given Iran's track record on military demonstrations, I wouldn't be at all surprised if it was computer animated, with a mock-up for the guy to sit in.

Don't laugh, Mulcair will want it thrown into the mix to replace the F-18. :D

By the looks of it, it lacks wing area, fuel storage, thrust, and headroom for any pilot taller than 5' 2".

Someone may have to explain to the Iranians that simply calling something "stealth" or "radar evading" does not make it so.

I think they stole the design from the 30+ year old movie Firefox. The plane that could be flown by (dirty) minds.

If they cant fake build a third generation fighter aircraft or stage a monkey space flight why is the west still pretending to be concerned that they can build and deliver nuclear bombs to the west? Either mock them or take them serious, but choose a position, its not just the iranians that come out looking kinda ridiculous out of this.

Listening to such opposing positions coming from the same pulpit I may as well be in church. "God will send you to burning, roasting hell for eternity, condemn your wicked soul to fire for not bowing down to him, but he loves you so much he gave his own begotten son so you may have everlasting life"

Fifth, they're comparing it to the F-22 and F-35.

The west had hydrogen bombs and ICBMs in the 1950s. 5th gen fighter aircraft are only being deployed now, and the Iranians are claiming to have developed one, with their next most advanced domestically built fighter aircraft being a knockoff of the F-5, which would be considered a third generation fighter.

I don't see the opposing position. Iran is developing nuclear arms. They don't have one yet. They're developing advanced weapons, but again, they don't have them yet. They like to fake that they're more advanced than they actually are, and want to hide any failures they may have. I'm not saying we should fear them, or that attacking them would be appropriate, but recognizing that they are developing advanced weapons but are also not as advanced as they claim to be is hardly contradictory.

Anyway, this thread is starting to get pretty close to water cooler material. I'll believe they have a 5th gen stealth aircraft when it flies at an international air show.

No, wait. It just looked cool on the Valkyrie, so it'll look cooler on a fighter. It's the fighter aircraft version go faster stickers on Civics.

Flight Global has published an analysis on this aircraft . . . but the article is only accessible by their FG Club members. Anybody here fall into that group? I would love to know what FG's opinion on this thing is.

Could be a red herring, given that Iran is having elections in a few month.

G'day

I was recently on a clandestine mission in the Tehran area with Moose'od to gather intel on the Iranian's new Women's Liberation 'Stealth' Fighter. We managed to take this photo before we our position was compromised, causing us to leave a trail of death and destruction in our wake during our escape.

I offer you my fellow aviators, an exclusive look at this highly secretive 'femme flytel' aircraft designated by the West as F.L.O.P. or Fighting Ladies Over Persia.

Cheers...Chris

I think they should get their airlines sorted out before going stealth.

I have a radar-evading Toyota Corolla SS (SuperStealth), they'll never find me

Some say, "It's half as good as an Avro CF-105 Arrow." And "It makes the JSF look like a pork chop."

On a modelling site I frequent the speculation is it was built by Hasegawa.

Looks like the Iranians have us beat already. The Superdupper Arrow fanboi's can't even get a real model put together.

While there are numerous, humorous reasons I’m sure we can all come up with; why are all the markings on the "plane" in English?

I can pretty much guarantee the new stealth fighter will never be spotted on radar.

It could be a development of the F-20 Tigershark...the last prototype crashed in
Goose bay in a demo when the test pilot choked during inverted maneuvers.
(His lungs were full of stomach content.)
It was a far better airplane than the F-16 at one third of the cost.(According to . Yeager)
Image
Eventually, South Korea and Taiwan developed their own fighter based on the F-20.
Since Northrop had to pay with their own money for the development and GD got government money,
they had billions to bribe the "fighter Mafia" in the US Air forces...
Image
Maybe Canada would be better to recycle the hundreds of Canadair F-5 in storage out west
(hung upside down like bats from the ceiling) instead of the useless piece of shit that is the F-35!
