Not sure that I fully understand the question but... For each CJ2+ delivery, a PC12 leaves the property. The timeline is generally 1 replacement every few months. Hard to say on when the final fractional PC12 will depart but probably in the 20 to 30 months timeframe. CJ2+ aircraft don't really have a home but pilots will be based in YYC/YYZ/YUL/KSDL.

Sorry, I do see the confusion, are the PC-12's going back to Pilatus or are they being sold off individually? Any life left in them for passenger travel or are they looking at a future in the cargo world?

I'd rather not get into their future on an anonymous forum but they do have lots of passenger travel left in them.

Timeline is taking shape for the next CJ2+ delivery and it looks like we will have a few external spots to fill. As before, the majority of the positions on the new aircraft will be filled internally, however, we will be looking at resumes for the following positions:

Jet Captain
Jet First Officer
PC12 Captain
PC12 First Officer
Flight Department Clerk (entry level low time pilot position -YYC)

Bases to be determined but likely positions both East and West (YYZ/YUL/YYC).

Hi AirSprint HR

I have a question regarding mini requirement for FO on PC-12,

according to the web site, it said 1000 hrs mini. and here said 1500 hrs.

how would you guys rate if a pilot has 1100 hrs ?

thanks, Airsprint HR, i am seriously interested in the position. I got email last year saying the positions have been filled and would like to try again this year

thanks and regards for reply

We are ideally looking for a little more experience but I would recommend that you apply if interested as we look at all those who show interest.

AirSprint has a Performance Agreement for Initial Simulator training. The agreement is prorated over 24 months and is for $36,000 for the jet positions and $12,000 for PC12 Captains. Basically, the pilot agrees to stay with AirSprint for 24 months following the simulator training. If the pilot departs, the remaining amount is to be paid to the company by the pilot. No money up front/loans etc required. If the pilot already has a type rating (rare in our case), no Performance Agreement is required.

AirSprint has managed a Lear 40 for the last 6+ years and we may have a First Officer spot available in Calgary. We have been trying to fill the spot internally but initial simulator course availability seems to be hard to find right now. As such, we are considering hiring a Lear 45 type rated pilot. Our preference is still to fill this position internally, however, if the right individual applies and we don't have much luck in the near future with obtaining a course, we would likely fill the position externally.

Hello AirSprint HR.

What would the odds of a pilot with 6000+ total time, 2000+ jet and corporate experience being noticed on your ever growing resume pile?

Thanks.

.. just out of curiosity... so what will happen to all the PC12 captains once the PC12's are gone? What about those guys with limited twin time?

It would definitely be looked at as we look at all resumes. With that experience it would likely be evaluated in greater detail.

All of our PC12 pilots will be transitioning to one of the jet types and we are currently upgrading PC12 Captains to CJ2+ Captains and First Officers as well as XLS First Officers. We don't place much importance on twin time and it does not play into our decision regarding upgrades. We find that the PC12 is an excellent transition aircraft going to the Citations.

Hello AS HR,
Can you comment on benefits? How much vacation is entitled per year? What is the health/dental package (including family)?
Cheers

Everything you wanted to know about AirSprint can be found by Googling "Airsprint Pilot Handbook"

First result.

Vacation: 2 weeks per year / 3 weeks per year after 3 years

Health/Dental: Alberta Blue cross. 80% coverage for most things. Company pays 50% of monthly premiums first five years, then 100% afterwards.

RRSP match. 3% march after 3 years, 5% match after 5 years.

Long and short term disability, and employee assistance program.

Growth based profit sharing was recently introduced but has yet to pay out.

Not the easiest to explain but hope this helps.

Thanks for the handbook Oscar. Good to see even if out of date.

I would also like to add my appreciation for this forward approach taking by AS. I never understood why other companies cant make basic information about the job available. This way saves both sides time. Well done.

It's been awhile since the last update so...

AirSprint recently took delivery of our 6th Citation CJ2+ from Cessna completing our transition from the PC12 to the CJ2+. We now have an all jet fractional fleet with the Citation XL/S. We are in the process of increasing the amount of time off that our pilots have and implementing a fair-share preferential bidding system in order to provide our pilots with increased control over their schedule.

Although we recently completed a round of hiring, we anticipate needing more pilots in the late summer/early fall. For more information about a pilot career with AirSprint please see our Pilot Career Guide at: http://www.airsprint.com/en-ca/node/78?language=en

Thanks for the posting and the information in your pilot career guide brochure. It's nice to see a company be upfront with information like this.
