From first flying job to final step?

Post by Wacko »

I was just looking through my logbook and realized it took me 4.5 years from my first pay flight (I got paid for flying) to my current job where I can see myself retiring... (not saying I won't move.. but I'm happy where I am) Wondering how long it took the rest of you?

Unless that last job has a lot of variety and potential for learning new stuff, I hope it takes me longer than that.

From my first job to where I can see myself retiring was 1 year 3 months. It took a lot of hard work and a bit of luck to get, but there is more than enough variety at my current job to keep it interesting.

The first one was a lot of fun, but I am happy to not have to make sure my paycheque was complete every month anymore (and all the other joys that come with that)

Two years ago I would have said 2 years, now I say 5 years, in twenty years I might say twenty years. Enjoy the present, if you don't: change something.
