I doubt it would make it go up. Chavez's hatred of the Americans and control of OPEC is one of the things that made prices jump in the first place.

But it won't go down either, the market has already shown it can bear today's prices.

Despite Chavez's anti American stance, Venezuela has always exported the majority of it's oil to the U.S. I doubt his departure will change that.

When John Kerry approves the Keystone XL pipeline later this spring, their (Venezuela) oil will become irrelevant to the Yanks. The Chinese will take what the Yanks dont want/need anyways, so nothing much will change...other than the buyers.

I watched this tonight, pretty good.

http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/hugochavez/

I never knew he hosted his own weekly presidential tv show, where he actually made decisions on air - live!! Pretty interesting way to run a country. Could you imagine Harper having his own television show, where he would lecture the populace for hours and berate his ministers publicly!?

I don't think the aviation gas in Venezuela is as cheap as the gasoline for cars (4 cents/liter)...

If the aviation gaz is that cheap you can fill a Navajo for 20 bucks :smt040

Keep our resource for us first. Oil sands from the west, plus the newfies woke up and they will be one of the most profitable province in Canada in a near future with Old Harry. We got in Quebec more than half of this resource but our government is too stupid to move forward. Where I live I pay 138.4/liter.

It shouldn't affect the aviation gas price tough with Chavez's death. As far as I am concerned, he can go to h...

First the Venezuelan Govt. illegally seized a GII - and now that it is no longer flying, they stole themselves a Citation X - from Air Luxor of Portugal - after the captain reported a suspicious package on board.

There is a Interpol red notice to detain the jet should it show up - so far it has flown to Cuba, and one trip to Colombia to pick up FARC released hostages. The Venezuelan Govt sent their military crews to USA to get type rated on the stolen jet!!!

Chavez is gone - they want their jets back!!!

I remember these idiots buying two CL-215 to ferry crews to the Orinoco river dredges...
Very fancy passenger interiors...the only one ever!
The minute the mining company Texas Gulf opened the iron ore mine they were dredging the channel for, the same day,
Venezuela just seized, STOLE! the iron ore mine...a billion dollars down the toilet...The Canadair got parked right away.

About the same time, a huge oil fired powerplant fire(Tacoa fire) encircled and trapped a whole neighborhood in Maiquetia, Caracas.
http://www.omagdigital.com/publication/ ... e=&ver=swf
The cowardly Venezuelan crew refused to fly the airplanes...Canadair had to send it's own crew
who then saved a whole bunch of people...no thanks of course.

That was before the Mono Hoogo Chavez...cant blame him for that...so these "smarts" are congenital down there.

I hear that Buffalo Joe spotted one on google earth and bought it...must have had near zero hour(save for the firefighting)
but corroded through and through...

The other one crashed on a training flight at Puerto Ordaz in 89, killing three crews.

Not sure what effect on oil will Chavez's departure have, but judging from the current gang running world's economy and oil, I don't think average Joe will see any benefits...

"Son todos ladrones"
Said the President of Uruguay about the Argentines...sure is true about the Venezuelians...
http://blogs.reuters.com/great-debate/2 ... old-hoard/
Now Texas Gulf and all the morons that invested in Venezuela will never get paid for their stolen property.
Lay with dogs...wake up with fleas!

The gold is back in Caracas:
Image

About the price of oil...they found colossal reserves of fracking oil just about everywhere,
just as all the bureaucrat's greed have exploded at a colossal rate...

Image

And if you add the derivative market deficit
(imaginary trading...you put up a thousand dollars to trade a 100,000 can$ contract)
the hole is 300 trillion deep!

So the fossil fuel will never go down in price!
I wonder from what kind of fossils are the petrochemicals of
planet Jupiter and Uranus are made up of?
