It never fails to amaze me how the media can create a full-length drama-action thriller out of a routine, no-brainer.

Still we ought to be thankful for small mercies, I guess:
  • ● no animals were killed, injured, or maimed during the making of this production,
    ● no trans fats were used in the production.
    ● total sodium is less than 0%
    ● and last but not least: this is a 100% CANADIAN production.

yeah, something they've done in the sim repeatedly till they're completely comfortable with it, and "blue-in-the-face". You ever notice how things fail repeatedly in the sim that never happen in real life...?

An engine failure is in reality, a non-event. An event is a fire you can't put out, your destination goes down after you pass your PNR, or you lose comms or have no one to communicate with when you really need to.

Sort of ironic then that there's now three threads on this incident on AvCan.
