Oh for the good old days

I remember when buying parts from Aviall, Leavens, Leggatts, API was so simple. We had commercial accounts and received a nice discount. We could put a reasonable markup on them and everyone got a fair deal consistently. You didn't have to run and hide and look in the mirror to put a price on a part.
Then along came Aircraft Spruce and I new this was trouble from day one. I refused to use them and continued to support the others, Leaven's especially.

Don't know if any of you are old enough to remember a song (Kingston Trio, I think) about the man that swept streets for a little town. Well the old fellow was happy doing his job but the town thought it could do it cheaper with a powered sweeper and bought one. Well the old man talked to the politicians and begged for a chance to compete with the powered sweeper to keep his job. Well one day they lined up side by side and off they went. Well the powered sweeper disappeared around the next streat corner before the old man swept 10 feet.
Can't stop progress.

Well as much as I tried to support Leaven's the nail was in their coffin with Aircraft Spruce. My conscience could not allow me to continue buying from Leavens or the others and marking it up and ending up at a much higher cost
than from Aircraft Spruce. But how in hell can you mark up parts from Aircraft Spruce. Now the owner thinks you are screwing him. I never know how much of a markup to put on them or even if I should. Damn ridiculous now. I hate them. No, I love them. No, I hate them .........................................dammmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Some of the guys from Leavens have set up another company, just around the corner. Can't remember the name but they're on the same phone number. I'm sure they'd be happy to have your business.

I always find that the guys at Aero Supply are pretty fair to deal with .

I have used Kadex a few times now. Last time they made a small mistake on one hose, got me the proper one quickly at their expense no hassles. Fast response to emails even on weekends etc.

I did try to order from the old Leavans guys but they just never returned calls/emails etc so what can you do.
