Sorry guys. Just realized that I didn't post the like properly.
Re: American ATC.
Or are you sorry that Toronto isn't as important as you thought?

Re: American ATC.
oh brother, Canadian ignorance is not invisibile either.
MOST Canadians I know could not point out St Louis, Charlotte, Indianapolis, or even Vegas on a map. I hear all the time how ignorant Americans are about geography, but GMAB, Canadians are just as stupid.

The controller should have responded "you are flying all the way to Spain?"

Fair enough, I'd agree, but most Canadians don't particularly need to know where St. Louis or Charlotte is. As a pilot or ATC I would think they would have a better idea than your average joe.Jack In The Box wrote:oh brother, Canadian ignorance is not invisibile either.

My 2 cents

Your comment is valid and a fair one. I will respond by saying that, regardless, I don't think one person represents the whole. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fallacy_of_divisionFighterPilot wrote:Fair enough, I'd agree, but most Canadians don't particularly need to know where St. Louis or Charlotte is. Re: American ATC.
Actually, the American controller was right and the Air Canada pilot was wrong. IAG->YYZ 319.0° (NW) not NNE
Re: American ATC.
Oh no, the controller only had a vague idea where The Center Of The Universe was, when it's WAY outside of his area of responsibility. Most Canadians west of Quebec probably only have a vague idea of where the Atlantic provinces are.
Wouldn't that be Italy?Panama Jack wrote:The controller should have responded "you are flying all the way to Spain?"
