What is a "good" salary?
I don't live in Canada but have relatives who tell me what things cost generally so the wages shown on candianpilotpay.com are eye-popping. It says there a newly-minted Jazz captain makes $77 per flight hour which I suppose is seen as fairly good?
Could someone suggest what a two-person household with no mortgage, car loans or debts of any kind would need to net to have a good quality of life - I mean just the basics like buying good food at the shop without stressing about costs, paying the property tax and utilities and perhaps escaping the winter for a month each year.
Considering a move so any and all opinions are helpful.

Really? No mortgage, car loans or debts? You wouldn't need much to live comfortably in even a big city with no financial burdens. The aviation world is your oyster with a financial position like that. You would do just fine making $50k a year. If you're significant other earns as well, then you are that much better off. For the rest of us that have mortgages and loans etc, $75-80k a year is probably required to own a home, afford car payments, loan payments, save and spend on the odd trip here and there.M. Totally depends on where you want to live.
50K a year in a small town will go a long way, it won't be much at all if you're talking a major city center. Also as mentioned it sure depends on your financial situation. Most people have to pay rent or a mortgage. If you don't have that expense at all, then you can get by on probably 60% of what a person who does pay those bills.
Add kids into the mix and its tough on less than $75k/year anywhere civilized.

there are lots of costs involved just to live day to day, your drivers licence is $100, licence plates, $75, car insurance , tenent insurance, electricity, $60 , Gas $100, water, $40, garbage pick up,, bus passes, kids going to school, lots of extra charges. this is a small start, the list is long,

Escape the winter for a month?
Well first of all good luck getting four weeks of vacation.
Then more good luck to get them all together. You'd have to be pretty high up the list for that.
Third... Yeah, with an average 2-3 bedroom house costing north of $300,000, almost no one has no mortgage.
