So.. because you apparently know everything.. I figured I'd check some facts. A quick call to the ops manager, who happens to be an old friend was all it took. They have not lost the contract.
Finally, some one with actually insight had weighed in on the manner!
Sounds like Orca Airways is still in charge of the Dynamex routes! Maybe Carson has some other new contract that people were getting confused with?
basher wrote:Why yes, you are correct. They still hold the contract with Dynamex on the navajos, but the metro runs will soon be taken over in a couple months.
Now I am confused? I thought this was just about Orca's metro contract? Rowdy, was the ops manager specific with you that they will be doing both the Dynamex Navajo and metro run?
The last I knew AN was still the ops manager and why would he say that anything is other than sunshine and lollipops? He would NEVER say anything is bad. Gotta have positive attitude ya know.
I wouldnt be suprised if the metros are done. They have 3 and cant keep them in the air. No parts, no qualified people, and a snot load of snags evry day that they can't sort out. They haven't had 3 metros flying since they got them, at least one is always broke - or robbed for parts.

Consider the sources!!!
Everyone keeps stating that Orca is losing the contract but no one is saying where their information is coming from...sounds more like disgruntled ex employees indeed!
Just stating facts. I have no idea if they have or have not lost them.
I would find it hard believe anyone that worked there enjoyed it, and that they would be bitter about leaving. Everyone I've talked to ex or current employee tells me its a s%$thole, and from what I've personnally seen - it is.

Our company takes great pride in having gruntled employees.
Although as I never heard of the word before and never thought about it, I googled it...there is such a word!!!
Thank you for that..It is my new word of the week, and will get a prominent place on the next company wide dispatch.

Really Boeingboi..."just stating the facts, yet you have no idea blah, blah, blah"...sounds like your credibility is in question!!

Really? just cause you got a woody at having your first job - doesn't make it all roses.
Why is it that people at sh*&hole companies can't see it for what it really is? Why would my credibility be in question?? Sounds more like I struck a nerve.
Sorry guys to be the bearer of such bad news but Carson have signed a deal to employ several Filipino pilots who are now available for flying due to some union problem in the Philippines and are rated on the aircraft........
So I'm pretty sure that Carson Air is doing interviews for Metro pilots now...I'm pretty sure Carson is smart enough not to bring Metros back to Vancouver from their Calgary and Kelowna bases, and start interviewing pilots unless they actually had the contract.
Orca has expanded way too fast for its own good and unfortunately its gunna end up like most of the other navajo companies that have flown out of Vancouver over the years.
And when you have Metros that barely fly and a contract that requires Metros, your in it up to your neck...I feel sorry for all the pilots effected but not for AN
I heard it was such a gong show that when Dynamex crawled back to Carson he jacked the rates significantly and they still went with it. I heard Carson sued Orca and the dummy that pirated all his manuals and went back to work for Orca so they could get the metros started up too. Then I heard Orca kicked the dummy to the curb so he could flounder on his own for Carson's lawyers and now he's screwed with what I would guess will be a big judgement against him for corporate theft since he signed a privacy/intellectual property thing with Carson as most companies require.
West coast south side ops... thanks god I made it out alive but I miss the entertainment value...
