So, is it just me or has the link to apply for westjet been gone for a while. Want to get my application in but only see the link for encore. Any news, ideas, anything. Thanks.

What is the deal with how encore flow through will work too? I keep hearing different things and haven't found a clear answer in any of the threads. Two main questions being:

1) System seniority?
2) Pay? if you move over after 3 years at encore do you start at 3rd year mainline pay or do you start at a new hire pay on the 37?

Would someone left seat for a 705 operation be better off holding out for mainline?

Good morning from rainy Calgary!

The posting for WJ likely won't open now because there are only 2 courses left to fill with roughly 20 pilots in the current pool.

As for the encore questions, flow is the only thing guaranteed today. However, the wjpa and senior management are very very close in reaching an agreement on some form for date of hire. These rumours are true.

The first two encore classes are in sim now and the third course starts in a week or so.

You have mentioned in previous threads that there are 4 more classes to go for June/July/Sep & Oct. Why only 2 now?

June 24th has been notified so I didn’t count it in. July is still on as is Sept. These two classes are confirmed and have yet to be notified (30 days out). October is tentative but looking good based on what comes out from the winter schedule which is being worked right now.

The westjet hiring is all done for 2013 as the winter schedule will be set up for better success (irop recoveries etc) thus requiring less new hires.

Unless they decide to disband the pool despite saying you're "hired", make you re-apply, and then decide to not hire you. Yes, sour grapes at the time, but everything happens for a reason and it all worked out.
