As in the Odyssey from YYZ that went Tango Uniform so many years ago? Or is this the old "How I long to return to the halcyon days of Wardair" song again? The startup business is fraught with idiots who want to reclaim or recreate the good old days, and forget how much it costs in capitol, jobs and good will! The aviation world is littered with the carcasses of start up carriers who under capitalize and under estimate stuff like ....lesssee...oh yeah big nasty and deep pocketed legacy carriers who swat these little guys aside like gnats...good luck I say...

Odyssey....I remember those guys. Glory days of Canadian charter companies (I was with Points of Call)... tragic story is, after Odyssey folded, a bunch of crew went over to Nationair and I believe some of them were on MXQ in Jeddah. Tragic.

Well, it certainly is all a very interesting read. But as the article points out, the all-luxury airline model has been tried before and, til now, nobody has been able to create a stand-alone business model of one that has survived the test of time or a business cycle. There are a lot of factors that weigh-in against such a proposition.

I would love for Mr. Scott to prove me wrong, but won't hold my breath on this one.
