A study permit to get a CPL in Canada

Post by envi4ever »

Why is the study permit rejection rate to get a CPL so high for Canada ?

Can someone help me convince the Visa Officer as to why someone would want to get their CPL in Canada ?

I don't know, I currently know people here on a student visa doing their commercial. Maybe if you "got accepted" to a flight school which is an accredited post secondary institution it would help. Maybe going through a flight college would help in this case. Or get accepted to a university or college then "change your mind" and enroll in a flight school. I don't know if the last suggestion would be legal. What country are you trying to enter from? Maybe try a different embassy or consulate......good luck

Thanx for the reply Ice Ice Baby. I have an acceptance letter from Harv's Air, Manitoba for my Professional Pilot's Training. My visa got rejected on the basis that my previous education was not relevant to my flight training lessons....do you have suggestions to convince the Visa Officer that educational background does not come in way of my being trained as a Pilot ????

You can show him job ads that have no indication of education requirements beyond flight training. Take Air Canada requirements or any other large company you can find.

If I understand the issue correctly -and it is entirely possible that I do not! - perhaps the problem is that since Canada is already swimming in pilots without work, they see no reason to allow a visa to create another?

That would make sense, however we're talking about the government. We have many people continuing to come in with visas to learn to fly. However they usually get in the backdoor by having a visa to study at University or something, then do the flight training on the side, since it's considerable cheaper here than many other places.
