Found Aircraft
Went to order some Bush Hawk parts today and was told the company is in receivership and so can not fill the order. Anyone have news regarding if and when they will open again?
Re: Found Aircraft
Found was not at Oshkosh and the news around there was that they were done.
Re: Found Aircraft
Too bad. They looked like they might have had a winner. Too many operators sticking with Beavers/185's etc., I guess. That, and the every dwindling float ops in the first place. Thank you insurance companies.

Re: Found Aircraft
Is there even a major aircraft manufacturer left that hasn't been in bankruptcy at least once?

Cessna filed for bankruptcy in 1931, but re-opened its doors in 1934. I don't think there are any current mass production aircraft companies that haven't in some way been absorbed, restarted or went bankrupt at some time.ahramin wrote:Cessna

Re: Found Aircraft
Airbus didn't make their first profit until 25 years after they were formed; I don't think they count!
The trouble with all of these little manufacturers is they only make an airplane for a narrow market of people.
Found is for the handful of bush operators that need STOL and payload in a piston aircraft who want to pay the half a million dollar entry fee just to have a brand new plane..... like someone said, at that price a Beaver plus a bunch of extra cash for fuel and maintenance makes more sense, and everyone else will get a 206.

Re: Found Aircraft
Too much new design and not enough sales. Should have stayed with the original Bush Hawk.
Re: Found Aircraft
Their customer demographic are a pretty crusty, terrified of change, deHav rodent worshippers, for a large part. Plus the odd rich private dude. Wonder when something NEW will have a chance in that market? Prolly not for many more years.
Re: Found Aircraft
So is the factory still running and aircraft still being built or its closed down?

PS. I don’t have a mailing list of Found owners, so please pass the above reference on to those who would find it useful.
