Calgary Flying Club or Spring Bank Training Collage?
Calgary Flying Club or Spring Bank Training Collage? Which one would you pick and why?
Re: Calgary Flying Club or Spring Bank Training Collage?
Well if you want to fly I'd go with Calgary Flying Club. I don't see a collAge getting you much flight time. Unless you're sniffing the glue and flying high

What about Springbank Aero? I've flown at both CFC and SATC, and while they are both ok I think there are better options. I haven't flown at Springbank Aero, but looking at previous threads about them on avcanada they sound like they might be worth checking out.

Go to Fly Right! It's an awesome place and everybody knows each other by name.

You must not have got the memo.MartinB wrote:Go to Fly Right! It's an awesome place and everybody knows each other by name.

It's actually kind-of neat how it 'came around' so fast (to the original FTU) once the objective of finding the right one got scattered across the three new threads.

Buddy, get off your wallet, head out to each of these places, and take a lesson or two at each place. Get the feel of them, and of the instructor. It's all loggable time. When you find a place/person that you like, stick with them.
All of this questioning is pointless, as we are not you, and just because I like one instructor over another doesn't mean that you will...
Good Luck!

So one person has a problem with the CFI and therefore it's not a good place? I've never had a bad experience there. Neither have 5 of my friends currently training there...
Re: Calgary Flying Club or Spring Bank Training Collage?
I don't think anyone is saying it's a bad place. I've never flown there, but I have talked to a few who have. I get the impression she is a great instructor, but some people have difficulty with her personality. I imagine the same could be said for Cat Driver or Colonel SandersMartinB wrote:Shiny Side Up wrote:You must not have got the memo.MartinB wrote:Go to Fly Right! If you plan on getting your CPL and flying as a career you go to FlyRight, no question. Just be prepared for an unpleasant experience. I believe she is, and I suspect many others will acknowledge her as the best instructor in the region.
Having said that, I am an amateur and even if I didn't have to pay for the training or the plane I doubt I would take advantage of the opportunity.
YMMV

Indeed. The point was merely that I don't think fly right is being considered as an option by the OP currently.CpnCrunch wrote:I don't think anyone is saying it's a bad place.MartinB wrote: So one person has a problem with the CFI and therefore it's not a good place?
