All the whiners from Toronto (anti Porter people) should be on the end of the runway to hear how it sounds - cause they better get used to it
, she's coming to an Island near you SOON!!!

More great planning by BBD. Hope it flies better than the planning department.

Re: CSeries to fly Sept 16 with Live Streaming Video
It's working for me now. It has been airborne for about 15 minutes now!
Re: CSeries to fly Sept 16 with Live Streaming Video
Finally loaded a few minutes after my last post...looks great!
I thought it was kinda funny how all the airline executives (including Bob Deluce) were saying how quiet it was. I don't doubt that it will be substantially quieter but I wonder if Bob slipped 'em all a $20 to say it
Congrats to BBD!

Any idea when she's set to land? She should be up for a few hours eh?
Re: CSeries to fly Sept 16 with Live Streaming Video
According to Airliners.net she's landed safe and sound!
Re: CSeries to fly Sept 16 with Live Streaming Video
Yup, flightaware tracked her doing a couple of orbits over Montreal after the testing north of Montreal then landing which was covered live at the link above.
Felicitations a tous les gens de Bombardier!

Good news! But I don't think that it'll be taking off from the island any time soon, or if at all.

Re: CSeries to fly Sept 16 with Live Streaming Video
Respectfully disagree 100 percent.
Island Airport is still the property of our Federal Govt., who would be under huge pressure by the Bombardier clan, the QC Govt., to support the CS100 program 100 percent including support of Mr. Deluce's grand scheme's. Included in the mix would be financial backers, (future backers) who hope to be involved with an eventual IPO.
Money and Power trumps all.
I myself, am looking forward to flying CS100's out of the Island to wicked tropical locations.

Don't forget also, Bizjets101, that the feds have so far publicly invested $350M in taxpayer money into the C Series program. So yes, they have a vested interest in seeing Porter fly the thing.
Many on this site said the same thing about the Q400 back in 2006. My prediction is that the first Porter CS100 flight will be YTZ-YYC.peice wrote:Good news! But I don't think that it'll be taking off from the island any time soon, or if at all.
Re: CSeries to fly Sept 16 with Live Streaming Video
Valhalla, does that have anything to do with where PM Harper is from or is it coincidence? My prediction is that the first Porter CS100 flight will be YTZ-YYC.
Just curious why you think that.
Also, do you think Porter will hire me direct entry captain on it, partly serious?
Re: CSeries to fly Sept 16 with Live Streaming Video
It'll probably be YYC or YVR from YTZ first, just based on the internal rumor mill. As for direct entry captain, that would depend on our ability to staff the positions internally first. I'm not sure what internal requirements the grownups have mind, but we have hired direct entry in the past. It's possible that it will happen again due of the fairly aggressive delivery schedule in 2016/17.mbav8r wrote:Valhalla, does that have anything to do with where PM Harper is from or is it coincidence?

Valhalla
There should be no need for Porter to hire Direct for the C series left seat. The simplicity of the C series should negate that. Now, if they were to have difficulty recruiting overall, they may find a need to do so.
I doubt a Q Captain (or F/O) would find it a difficult transition.
Congrats to Porter!
