So, if one were to become a licensed IFR controller, where would he find himself on the collective agreement as far as pay grade goes?
#1. What is the difference between operating employee and protected operating employee
#2. Starting out would you be AI-00, AI-01, AI-02, AI-03 ect. up to AI-07, Or would you be ATC - 0, ATC 1 etc. up to ATC 7
#3. Once you figure out what number/letter you are, then it gives the option of being in row A, B, C or D
#4. Once you figure all that out, what column would your payscale be in? There are 11 in some cases
Looking for insight in someone who knows how to use or understands the payscale in the collective agreement. Thanks.
Also - Is there a link to the most recent Agreement available on the net.

1) The definition of protected employee is found in Article 1 of the agreement. I can't copy and paste it so you can look at it yourself.
2) New hires are ATC. ATC-0 is a training salary. Once qualified you earn the salary level which corresponds to your unit. All ACCs are ATC-6. Towers range from ATC-1 to ATC-6. We also use ATC Premiums now, not OFP (Operational Facility Premiums). I'm not quite sure why that's still put in the agreement...
3) I believe what you're referring to is the effective dates for the pay. The header of the page that shows salaries also indicates the effective date.
4) Every 52 weeks of service you move to the next column in the pay scale.
Doesn't look like the latest collective agreement is up.

The old AI pay scales, and OFP premiums are in there because when we had classification done years ago, there were some units that were negatively impacted. Those employees that were there at the time stayed at their old pay scales until such time as they leave to different units. In the meantime, they remain AI whatever, and get the same percentage raises as the rest of us enjoy.
