Any recommendations for online PTRs?
Just curious what services flight schools are using for Online PTRs, and what people's thoughts / reviews on them are. Any help is much appreciated.

Re: Any recommendations for online PTRs?
Apparently there are electronic PTR. Did a quick search and turns out Harv's Air is converting to it. Don't know if it's off the shelf software or custom.
http://harvsair.com/about/flight-training-program/Lesson tracking has traditionally been done with a Pilot Training Record (PTR) book. Currently we are switching over to an online version that has been developed in house. The online version of the PTR allows error free flying hours tracking, and a system to keep track of progress and requirements throughout the course. Having the PTR online allows the student, instructor, and sponsor to be up to date with progress throughout the course.
Re: Any recommendations for online PTRs?
I've had students coming from other schools who had online PTRs as well. Seems to be an advantage - students and instructors can check on progress at home, less time spent totalling, less errors, can instantly see what hours are required etc. I just have no idea where these services are.
Re: Any recommendations for online PTRs?
Is replacing a simple book and basic math skills really worth the hassle of converting to electronic? I always knew exactly where I was - after all, I had my own logbook which mirrored the PTR. Never had the urge to get online in the middle of the night and go read my PTR.
More and more, we have a tendancy to overcomplicate things with modern technology when a simple pencil and piece of paper will suffice.

The PTR is not for the student, but rather the instructors. It tells the next instructor where you are at and what you need to work on.
