Heard from a source that Magna is picking up a New Citation X to be based out of Buttonville. Ah the things you can get away with when flying privately.
Used to work on the ramp there. Frank bought the 7x because he could not go nonstop to Europe with the 900. Couldn't carry enough fuel and still get off ~4000' so they had to drop into Montreal.
That 7X is an awesome machine. It can take enough fuel to go nonstop to Vienna and get off just after the intersection on 15 (2800') my airplane isn't close to V1 by that distance.
here to sort out the rumours, The 50EX is for sale and being replaced with a 2000s. The 900 isnt owned by magna hasnt been for a long time.
No idea where the rumours about a citation X came from, no idea what the #s are, but cant imagine its a Buttonville airplane. nevertheless, magna is not getting one
The Falcon 900EX has been registered under a couple of names other than Magna - however the Falcon Sales rep that originally sold both the FA50 and FA900EX to Magna - is the same rep that just listed them both for sale - at the same time.
Falcon 900EX serial 87
Dassult demo registration F-WWFE and was delivered new to JetAlliance Flugbetriebs AG as OE-IMA in August 2001.
It was transferred to Norlease Inc. in Sept 2001 as N487MA and leased to Magna Intl. of America Inc.
It was transferred to Magna Intl. Nov 2001 as C-GGMI.
It was transferred to Magna Air Luftfahrt AG Sept 2009 as OE-IMI.
It was transferred back to JetAlliance Flugbetriegs AG March 2011.
It was transferred to Avcon Jet AG Dec 2012 - who are a management company like Skyservice/Chartright etc., so has been operating under the Avcon AOC but not their plane.
Just went up for sale with GGMI the Falcon 50.
So judging by it's history - it was bought/leased/operated by/for Magna since new, and has been kicking around since March 2011 while somebody figures what to do with it - now for sale.
