New CL-415 to USA Customer
Finally....
Someone in the US has purchased a CL-415.
The article also gives the impression that it has been delivered.
Company is Tenax Aerospace.
It was bound to happen given their air tanker situation; and the reality that the CL-415 is a proven fire-fighting aircraft.
First of many?

Said aircraft is currently at the home company facility in Abbotsford, BC. for mods to make it contract compliant.
Re: New CL-415 to USA Customer
And this is the airplane in question. The US registration had not been applied.

Nice. They'll have fun with it.
(Good to see that the ladder matches the paint! "Fer dat, you pay hextra, tabernac!"
)
ps. Any shots of the cockpit? It'd be interesting to see the panels..

Hello NS. The guy who delivered it sent me the pics. I'll ask if he took any cockpit shots.

North Shore ...it's got flight directors, cockpit voice recorder, and flight Data recorder ( CVR FDR) Other than that it's pretty much like Manitoba tankers.

Here is a pic of Aeroflite's other bomber.

That's pretty cool. Wasn't aware Aeroflite had a 146 as well. Thanks, bmc

Thanks, DR! I was wondering, somewhat cynically, whether Bombardier went whole hog, seeing as this is the first US airframe, and actually updated things a little with a modern GPS, TCAS, etc.. as opposed to staying with antiques from 1990.Driving Rain wrote:North Shore ...it's got flight directors, cockpit voice recorder, and flight Data recorder ( CVR FDR) Other than that it's pretty much like Manitoba tankers.

Tanker World Politics
These planes paint schemes are way to much conairish. This looks like tanker wars and it it funny how a big sticker on the side of of airplane can lead you to think differently. This must be conairs way of getting in on the US forest Services way of doing things thru Tenaxes back door.
Has any one heard how Coulson is doing with there herc

Re: New CL-415 to USA Customer
I believe the 1980's called Aeroflight and said they wanted their panel back so I believe it is getting a new modern glass cockpit, before going on contract for the US 2014 fire season
Re: New CL-415 to USA Customer
Well since Conair owns Aeroflite why would anyone be surprised that the newest members of the fleet would have a Conair color scheme.
The USAF has just transferred ownership of 7 C-130H models to the USFS to used as Air Tankers. They are going to be outfitted with the Coulson Tank System so standby as Coulson is just in it's infancy when it comes to operating large Air Tankers south of the border.

As a roaming Fed ship it will probably be in BJI when their water opens (to start the contract days) and ELO if required later on.
