Egress training 2014
I tried to find info on the tsb egress training recommendations, but didn't find a clear answer. Has it been made mandatory for flight crews for the 2014 season?

It should not matter if it is mandatory or not, anybody who flies a floatplane and has not done egress training is a fool.

Depends where you are.
Out on the West Coast, Bryan Webster does a really good job - I think that he still does the travelling road show, too http://www.dunkyou.com/
He gave a course at my workplace about 5 years ago, and guys left the course, saying that after 30 years of flying floats, they wished that they'd taken the course at the beginning of their careers, not the end.
I think that there's a place out in NFLD that does them too...
Full Disclosure: I helped Bryan with a few courses in the past, and I am a friend of his.
If you are considering doing any float flying, as either a passenger, or pilot, it's a hugely valuable and educational course.

Say, what's that mountain goat doing up here in the mist?

+1 to Bryan Webster. I took his course in the Toronto area a few years ago and it was well worth the time and money!!!

Pro Aviation Jackie and John put on a good course.

Re: Egress training 2014
I have taken both Brian, and Pro's courses - both were excellent, and both provided different perspectives.

Someday when I can afford it I plan to take the one on the East Coast.

I completed Bryan's course in 2007 prior to doing my float rating and a big trip on floats post-rating. When I took it, everyone was either a private owner or recreational flyer, so the material was presented accordingly.
But hands down, I have recommended it to everyone who has ever asked me about float training since. And even if you're on wheels but do a lot of over water flying, it's a good eye-opening experience.
