I'm really happy. I bid late check-ins, early check-outs, days off, and overnights at home. I didn't get many early check-outs but everything else I got. I was pleasantly surprised.

Reserving judgment for a month or two. Between Jan 31 and Feb 16 I have exactly two days off..... 5 on, 1 off, 5 on, 1 off, five on....then the rest of the month off. I did bid 4 or 5 day pairings but being so clumped at the beginning of the month with so little time off between..well...no likie. Also didn't get any of the bid attributes I bid for so that = zero satisfaction. Maybe that will help my score next month? Wait and see.

Commutable pairings don't happen by accident. They have to be planned. Would have thought that would have been part of the deal with the cancellation of porting and the opening of new bases.

No.

re the commutable pairings. There are plenty of commutable pairings in the package, it's just that they may not have the other attributes you want (low credit, red eye, etc.) As I've said before, you can get whatever you want, just not everything you want.

Bede, how many YYC overnights did you get? I went through the prelims with a fine tooth comb and there was only one pairing with only one YYC overnight in the whole thing.

Could someone update the pilots' base info on PCC to let the others now what new bases are available ? That would be awsome.

There is only one YYC overnight. With only 60+ 4 and 5 day pairings in YYZ, it's down to a numbers game of tug and war with a fellow commuter. One month may be decent but I think more months will reveal a tougher Sked for commuting with the sheer number of single days there.

Just curious. With the new base system and now that not everyone will be YYC based for the initial course will the YYZ and YVR based guys get accommodations provided for?

How many days a month do you guys work on average? Whats the block hours for that? Can you bid single day turns or is it mostly multi day pairings?

Hopefully the transition to the new bases is smooth.

Ah new that makes sense Bede. Glad you got a good schedule. Mine was not that great but could be a lot worse.

Onspeed. It's hard to answer your question because there are a tonne of one day high credit pairings in Toronto but much comparatively speaking in yyc. And our scheduling system doesn't allow you to get one day high credit pairings. If it did, a person could finish their month in 10 days. The scheduling system will start giving you low credit, 4 day pairings to make you work 16 days. This has GOT change in my opinion. It's stupid
