Porter written exam, and interview

Post by Pilot1500 »

hey avcanada,

I just applied online, and immediately after I applied I received a link to do an exam and some automated video link. Before I begin, I was just wondering if anyone had any info on these?

My experience has been that they both contain HR type questions. The written one asks a question and you answer it in the provided text box. The video interview you will need to set aside about 30 minutes on a computer with a camera and microphone, good internet, and a well lit room. The intent is to ask you some questions in writing, and you answer via recorded video. When it starts there is a sample question, and it gives you the opportunity to give a sample answer and play it back so you can verify that it all looks good. You can repeat this sample as many times as necessary. Following that it will ask you a series of questions and give you about 7 minutes to answer each, however you can stop it anytime when you have completed answering the questions. You see yourself as you're talking and being recorded, but you only get one chance at answering the question.

Good luck.

WOW........that gives me such warm and fuzzy feelings. I can feel 2001 Space Odyssey oozing from this...............'I'm sorry Dave.........I can't hire you right now............."

The Human Element has totally vanished from this business and that is why its become what its become.

What do you mean? The video interview is just a pre-screening process. They still do actual in-person interviews.

Just call the guy in and shake his hand.............see how he is dressed.

Have a real one on one conversation with him.

Put the human element back into this business instead of all of this electronic crap.

Why do you want to work for porter?
Why should porter hire you?

Then it's off to the in person interview
