North Cariboo Air question..help please??

Post by adster1989 »

Hello everybody,

I just have a question of curiousity.. Im looking to move my flying career out to western canada, and NCA really caught my eye.. Ive noticed for a king air 100/200 hour requirements were 3000 TT 1500 pic, 1000 multi, and 750 multi-pic... The hours i have currently is 2200 TT, 650 pic(150 is multi turbine pic), 1500 multi turbine (1360 is on aircraft in medium category)... I have a valid ppc on the king air 100 right now also... Majority of my time has been flown in northern ontario into gravel strips and bush strips....My question to everyone who looks at this is, would these hours even be considered alright to apply for a king air captain position for NCA.... Or even in the bigger picture, what kind of job could i get in the AB/BC region with these hours?? Hope to hear from everybody, to all fellow pilots, fly safe and keep the blue side up

If you want to fly a King Air in Alberta, look into some of the medevac operations. There are quite a few companies around the province that don't have Contrails requirements, and most of them pay pretty well for experienced pilots.

The hrs required for the King Air at Cariboo are Contrail requirements. You can apply some reductions if you've done sim training and some for time on type. With your time you would fit in anywhere as an FO on all types including King Air 200, 1900, DH8 and the RJ100. There was just a bunch of hiring but throw a resume in as there will be more I'm sure.

Oh and only 200s at Cariboo now, the 100s were gone last spring.

I've got 3000+TT, 2500MPIC Navajo. I'm very interested in moving my career to NCA however I do have a young family so wondering what I can expect for a starting salary and what could I expect after 5 years? The 32K salaries wouldn't really work out for me. I am interested in the Dash as a long term career so wondering what would be a reasonable upgrade time for me to left seat? And what's the sched for Dash Capts/FOs?

Thank you for your time!
