I'm predicting late July. I've heard summer is going to be held on a Tuesday this year.

Re: ice out 2014
Any day now at valley bottom..... the shacks have been off for over a week now.
Good thing I don't live in the Okanagan any more.... Ice? What ice?
But it will be nearly August at the 7000ft level because of the cold winter.....

Geez did I say that....? Or just think it....?

Took this picture https://www.dropbox.com/s/p6qi0al472su3d6/IMG_3879.JPG when we were trout fishing March 20th (first day of spring), as you can see we are preparing for an early ice out in N/W Ontario. My prediction: May 18th ice out for Red lake, reason: poor ice structure, temps will moderate.

Re: ice out 2014
Well, it's finally starting here in southern Ontario. Toronto harbor is now ice free, for those looking to get your floats wet. I'm guessing it'll be a couple weeks before the southern lakes (Scugog, Rice) are open.

Georgian Bay is still solid, save for a chunk up by Midland
Re: ice out 2014
July 18th is the day we change the ice over in Northern On.
What little I do know is either not important or I've forgotten it!

still white here in Huntsville. I was snowmobiling today on the lakes and just starting to be a bit of slush where I was. I'd say two more weeks minimum. So, May 1st. for this area and May 10th for Algonquin Park. Trout opener will be through the ice for sure.
