Sure it was the 10? AFAIK it was the 727, it left later that night

Sure would like to see a video of a DC10 being dragged out of the mud. That would be very educational.

Also entertaining and educational is watching a front end loader use a rope tied around the middle of the nose gear to pull a 1900 out of the hole it sunk into in YPM (summer gravel ramp). This was after the crew tried full engine power to Un-stick themselves...twiceIllya Kuryakin wrote:Sure would like to see a video of a DC10 being dragged out of the mud. When the -10 went thru a ditch and broke off the nosewheel in YVR some many years back, it was quite a site. Lots of folks just outside the fence watching when they were working to get it out.Illya Kuryakin wrote:Sure would like to see a video of a DC10 being dragged out of the mud.

Funny that the taxiways were shut down yet there is no Cadors for this, at least I can't find it. Looked like a 10 to me but the vis was pretty shitty. Anyone else find a report on this?

Nothing beats YPM stories!cdnpilot77 wrote:Also entertaining and educational is watching a front end loader use a rope tied around the middle of the nose gear to pull a 1900 out of the hole it sunk into in YPM (summer gravel ramp). Re: KFC DC-10
So I am curious... How can someone confuse a 727 with a DC-10? I mean the only thing they Share in common is 3 engines (narrow body vs wide body being almost double in size and the distinctive tail on the DC-10 ... Could have been a Falcon too cause that is about as close to a DC-10 as a 27 is.
Just sayin!

Re: KFC DC-10
Looked like a -27 with the right wing dipped down. At first thought it was a R/H main gear issue but I guess it sunk in soft ground.

Re: KFC DC-10
Like I said earlier, I believe it was a 27. The 10 does not typically service YEG.

Like I said, the weather was crappy and we were on the landing roll so I looked quickly and thought it was a 10. Not that it matters if I can or can't tell at a glance what the difference is, but thanks for the relevant info.X-Savior wrote:So I am curious... How can someone confuse a 727 with a DC-10?
