Air Canada interview !!!!

Does anybody know about the new air canada interview ???
is it technical ????
what should i study ???
Does Anybody know about this new cognitive test ????
Please help me i only have 6 days to get ready !!!!!!!

Best thing you can do is invest in a nice suit and practice your Air Canada smile.

I'm not kidding.....

Sim is important and just take your time and fly the profile with good CRM, if you get off track, go-around. Use your own calls on current type...It was in a 737, and the guys were nice and relaxed.

Cog test was on a computer and was straight forward.

Interview was just about you and your history, with a few questions of personal interest. Be honest and listen to the question.

Not a real tech interview, although it might have changed but they just want to see you have the right stuff. Relax and show that big

I heard that the sim portion would not be used for initial interviews due to the high demand of training. This is second hand info so can anyone confirm/deny this?

Well if the interview is actually 2 parts, then I could see that. Part 1 with the HR firm to screen any crazies etc., then part 2 with flight ops personnel which would be more technical and have the sim eval. Just guessing.

Does AC look at your driver's abstract still? What sort of things do they look at if they do?

Is your interview at JAZZ or Mainline? Were you in the pool from the last round of hiring? The only reaon I'm asking is that everyone I've talked to, including pilots in the ground school being run at AC right now, are saying interviews off the street beginning in September.

I also have heard of someone else who has an interview soon. It is for mainline not Jazz and there were not in the original pool. Does anyone know what the interview consists of? The type of questions asked (technical or not) and I will be sure to pass that much needed information to him. Thanks.

I was talking to one of the guys on the hiring board today at lunch. I guess there are some real winners out there just blowing interviews on the most stupid questions.

He said one guy from Jazz was asked in his interview how he felt about coming to Toronto?

Response " Well I am losing my base with Jazz so I have to come to Toronto anyways, you guys pay better."

Needless to say, this guy won't be around anytime soon. Even if that is a reason, play the game at least!

A lot of the senior guys from Jazz sent in applications with absolutely no intention of going to AC. I guess they aren't that far down the list yet, but it looks pretty bad on the rest of us who want to go.

Apparently they will only take a token few from Jazz for now to look politically correct. Jazz is already training at full capacity and has bit off more than it can chew training wise. Good thing it is a separate company. They don't seem to care about taking half of Air Georgian's pilots though. Hopefully when they get down the list into the 1000's they will notice we're a little keener.

That looks like a member of the troll family living in the mountains close to where I grew up... they are good neighbours and live on muskoxe and berries. The ground shakes a lot when they make new caves in the mountains though.

Just heard from a buddy about another buddy who was called for an AC interview. He is not from JAZZ, has maybe 2500 hrs.

Do you know how many Georgian Pilot's are being considered. One possibly two, have been called for an August Dash course.

4 pilot from georgian had or have comming Jazz interviews as far as i know (from the ones that are admiting), we had 2 on the hold AC poll, don't know what is happening for them, nobody called for fresh ac interview....best gess is that that georgian will lose 5-6 pilot a month to different airlines, but lots of captain are not crazy about that Jazz pay, hard to give up a captain position @ 60K$ for an FO position @35K$

anybody knows how many Jazz pilot in the first AC ground school, I heard 9 of the 15 where from Jazz.

Just had one of our pilots get called for an interview at AC. Has 2200 hours and a Degree.

So can I assume nobody (based on the replies) has any idea what the in person interview consists of? Too bad. I think 2500 hours seems to be the route AC is taking.. I wonder why?? Maybe there will be people out there who are overqualified. I will report if I do find something out from my buddy who goes in for one next week.
