... Was the RJ entry into service at Jazz such a shining example of how to do things they had no scheduling fuccups?
Hmmmmm, that's not how I recall it.
But selective memories would have us believe otherwise.
So nice to see Express team mates getting along. Isn't it?
It's no wonder the aviation industry in Canada is so fuctup.

What happened with Jazz years ago is not a concern and even if it was it was NOT this bad. This all has less to do with a new type introduction and more to do with the operation itself. Simply put it has been a goat screw from the get go. This has nothing to do with GGN pilots either. Pilots can only do so much.
There is no conspiracy. However the integrity of the entire Air Canada Express operation and subsequently the AC network itself has been compromised by this attempt at diversification.
Too cheap to subscribe to ACARS. They have to call in all the numbers and do manual weight and balance each flight too. No thanks! Jazz started up with the 757 with very few issues as I recall.

No doubt there has been a few hiccups along the way, but for the most part I'd say we've provided Air Canada with an exceptional product over the last 25 or so years.
It's been a month and a half. Where are things now?
Are they getting good enough for AC to consider expanding GGN's RJ network. Perhaps down to IAH (will the RJ go that far). I could also see the YYC-YZF and YYC-IAH. And obviously some Jazz east-coast-USA routes....

Most of their pilots currently are Regional 1 guys and some Ex Jazz now Skyregional (scabs!) doing their flying so that's the only reason they're even operating somewhat of a schedule.

Don't buy into the negative hype from the Jazz guys. GGN had an OK start, they started on time on a reduced schedule but compared to Sky with the Q's that was pretty impressive. Within one week they were operating a full schedule and within a month they have hit the same OTP as Jazz with a 99+% completion. AC also compares that performance to when Jazz took over the CRJ's from AC back in the day. Don't buy the hype!!!!
Regional 1 and AGL are all the same company so I suspect that pilot sharing will be long term. I would hardly call a Sky guy a scab for flying for AGL, they are all express partners, AGL and Sky are very interrelated as AGL does or did until very recently Sky's crew scheduling and planning.

So we're guaranteed AC will give GGN a bigger slice of the pie soon.....yayyyy
Question is, can the RJ fly YYZ-IAH and YYC-IAH? And will GGN get CRJ705/CRJ900/CRJ1000 (I can see the GGN b1900 FOs drooling)? Or perhaps the e195s :gasp:?

Howbout the 200. If it can't looks like GGN is getting more planes. Anyone know if EE is CR's cousin or something?
Or the flying could go to SKV...either way, I sure hope the Americans don't get a slice of the pie.
That is a good point people forget about. If the work didn't go to GGN it would have gone to Mesa or another American company. Be glad they kept the jobs in Canada.
AGL/R1 does own several CRJ 200's I am sure they can deploy on the CPA at anytime.

WHAT? How many? Since when? Where? In what shape? Can they make YYZ-IAH? Howbout YYC-IAH?
What is the longest Jazz RJ route the 100 can make?

I hope you're friggin' kidding ... The operation was running a 0-5% OTP for the first month (haven't seen numbers in June), massive delay's plagued with maintenance issues on a/c resurrected from the dead .. I don't blame GGN pilots .. I blame cheap b/s operators. To do the job with the proper equipment, with the proper credentials (ISO cert etc.) all cost money, and AC has blanketed companies like GGN and Sky from those cost. Its not really a fair playing field .. (not that I expect corporations to have ethics). Remember ACR (Jazz today) inherited those same shitty RJ's from AC .. they were rode hard when ACR accepted them.
The comment about scabs I believe was directed at ex-Jazz pilots now at SKR. If you're in a union and bail for a non-union competitor ... you're a scab .. anyone who is non-union doing union labour .. is a scab. Just sayin' ...
No they were double skabbin'. Going to Skyregional is one thing, but then moonlighting at Georgian? These guys have no shame. I'd be too ashamed to walk through a terminal doing what they did.

Wow - hater gotta hate I guess. OTP is fine now I think 94% controllable last 30 days not sure about all delays but completions is 99.27 last 30 days.
Maybe the pilots that left Jazz just wanted to advance their careers and become Captains sooner and get in on the ground floor of a company that is growing. Shame on you for judging another persons choices.
