AC Offers Ride to Officers

Post by zulutime »

I understand that AC offered 2 x 319's to fly officers from Toronto to Moncton to attend the funeral of the three fallen RCMP officers. Nice Gesture!

For the record Porter flew 2 airplane loads and Westjet also flew many to Moncton at no cost. So I have been told....no youtube or Facebook posts either

They did post it on their facebook, a few times. Also its not costing AC much since the flight is crewed by volunteers and was sponsored by corporrate donors. They did however add an extra flight to Moncton and triple the cost of tickets that their usual fares. They responded with:
The fares seen today, for flights today, are merely indicative of the fact that our flights to Moncton are now almost full.

Theyre really being panned on fb today, a digital lynching. Oh well, no such thing as bad PR, right?

Azimuth,

That's because the flights are completely sold out and the website is only offering J class.

That was a classy move on AC's part.

Yah, showing the fare tab but not the actually fare breakdown is hugely misleading. If all of the back is full and all is left is business class than yes, that is the price.

For what it's worth, that picture was completely doctored and none of those fares were accurate. YEG, for example, was showing exactly the same price as it did for Thursday.
