foreign pilots at sunwing
I am not involved, but I just heard from a reliable source that there are some foreign pilots at sunwing all year round!

True in the sense that one colleague doesn't have a canadian passport. He does have the right to work in Canada though, through a working visa etc.

If I were that "guy" I would be a little peeved that my personal situation were being discussed on AvCanada. Nice friends he has.Gilles Hudicourt wrote:Is it the same guy who got deported from the UK last month ?

Re: foreign pilots at sunwing
In any case, the fact that this pilot was detained on arrival in the UK and deported back to Canada is not a poor reflection on himself but on those who put him in that situation. His Canadian colleagues were all detained as well, they just weren't deported the next day because their Canadian citizenship allowed them to remain in the UK under a different status.
A bit like those foreign pilots who entered Canada without work permits "for training" last year when the training they had come to do was was is required of a pilot who needs to work for Sunwing.

If you say so then it must be true Gilles. Despite the fact that the airplane and crews operated the full schedule without any hiccups in LGW and continues to do so. Obviously everything was done incorrectly and illegally.Gilles Hudicourt wrote:In any case, the fact that this pilot was detained on arrival in the UK and deported back to Canada is not a poor reflection on himself but on those whose put him in that situation.
