This happened last night a few km's from my cottage. Pilot is very lucky to be alive, lets hope he makes a full recovery! This stretch of road isn't really well lit at night so hats off to the pilot for putting it down in relatively one piece.
No word on why he made the emergency landing yet but presumably engine failure.

I don't think it was appropriate to describe the pilot as a "white male". Glad to hear he is ok.
How do you go 205 kts TAS on 32 gal/hr without turbos!

Curiously, the press reported on the skin colour of the pilot. Sounds like they were just reiterating what the police said.

UPDATE Article now omits skin/flesh tone Perhaps the DNA result came back inconclusive or mixed?
